New Lottery Funded Employment Service Launches
We at BID Services are thrilled to announce the expansion of our specialist employment services with the launch of a brand new service in Leeds. This will expand the support we are able to offer to people who are D/deaf, hard of hearing, severely/sight-impaired, or deafblind.
Finding a job should be a positive experience, but it’s often challenging, especially for those who are Deaf or have hearing or visual impairments. Our new Leeds Employment Service aims to break down these barriers and to empower you to set and achieve your career goals. We will tailor support around your needs and ensure you have support every step of the way.
This service is all about ensuring you have the skills you need to succeed. Whether you need help writing a CV, preparing for an interview or you need help searching for vacancies online, we’re here to help. We will also help you build you digital confidence. From using BSL interpreter apps to screen-reader-friendly applications, we help you develop the skills and confidence to make the most of available technology.
We’re also committed to supporting employers who want to create inclusive workplaces. We assist employers in various ways including making recruitment processes more accessible, raising awareness and helping them understand Access to Work, the Government scheme which helps cover the costs of reasonable adjustments like interpreters in the workplace.
This project is made possible by funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. We extend our heartfelt thanks to National Lottery players for enabling us to provide this essential support.
