Northumberland Sensory Services
We provide specialist and support services across Northumberland for d/Deaf and hard of hearing adults and those with a visual impairment (18+). We also provide support for young people aged 16 and over transitioning to adults services.
Our services enable those with a sensory impairment to maintain independence, live in their own homes, continue to live the lives they choose and remain active in their community.
Our Services
Assessment and Support Planning
We provide specialist assessments of need and work with individuals to develop a support plan which details identified needs, chosen outcomes and how these are going to be met.
Rehabilitation Service
Our specialist staff provide orientation and mobility training enabling individuals to remain independent and safe in their own home and in their local community. We also provide practical, social and emotional support and help people develop skills and knowledge to maintain their home themselves including daily living skills.
Technology
We provide advice, support and training around use of users personal devices, such as smart phones, tablets and Alexa units.
