Children and Young People Services
Please note these services will commence on Wednesday 6th May 2026.

How we can help
Learning that your child has a visual impairment can feel overwhelming and emotional. You don’t have to face this alone. Our dedicated Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Children and Young People’s Service is here to support children, young people, and their families from the very beginning.
We’re with you from initial diagnosis in hospital and throughout your and your child’s journey, offering guidance, reassurance, and practical support along the way.
Support for the whole family
Our experienced team offers advice and guidance for everyone involved in your child’s life, including parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, and carers.
Skills for life
From first steps to the transition into adulthood, we help children and young people build confidence, independence, and everyday skills to support their future.
Keeping active and having fun
Our activities and trips are a fantastic way for children to try new things, make friends, and have fun, while families connect and share experiences.
