We provide support to help you gain employment and access education, training or volunteering opportunities.

If you are deaf, hard of hearing or have a sight impairment and live in Birmingham or Leeds, we can support you. In Birmingham we can also support those living with a disability.

1:1 Advice & Guidance

Our Employment Coaches offer tailored support to help you explore work, education, training, or volunteering opportunities. We also provide guidance with career planning, building confidence, and preparing for interviews.

Our Job Clubs in Birmingham and Leeds can support you in finding your ideal job, updating your CV, and completing application forms with confidence.

British Sign Language for International Learners

We offer courses specifically for deaf individuals who are international signers and native Deaf people with no BSL skills or who use home signs. These are designed to build confidence, communication skills, and access to services and information, helping people gain up to level 2 BSL qualifications.

Driving Theory Course – Birmingham

Delivered in Birmingham by a deaf tutor with a BSL interpreter, this course is designed for deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Access to Work

If you are working, you may be able to get an Access to Work grant which can cover costs such as communication support, assistive devices or taxis to help you at, and getting, to work. We can provide advice and support around making an Access to Work application.

Access to Work Scheme

The Government’s Access to Work Scheme can help to meet the costs of reasonable adjustments in the workplace ensuring your staff have the support and access they need to thrive in their roles.

We can provide support for employers and employees in applying for Access to Work.    

Awareness Training and BSL courses

We provide Deaf and Sight Impairment Awareness Training for employers and employees. These are designed to help you better understand and support employees who are deaf, hard of hearing or sight impaired. Sessions are interactive, tailored to your workplace, and we also provide flexible British Sign Language courses to suit your needs.

Ongoing support

We offer ongoing support for new employees and employers to ensure the right adjustments are in place and staff feel confident and supported in their roles.
