Meet Pauline – Milton Keynes Sensory Services

Pauline first joined Milton Keynes Sensory Services (formerly SARC) back in 2013 and has been a valued member of the team ever since!

As part of her Team Manager role, she has regular team meetings and 1:2:1 catch ups to give people a chance to raise any concerns, updates on client cases and carry out mental wellbeing check-ins.
She also regularly delivers presentations across the city to let people know about the support and services they have to offer people living in Milton Keynes with sight and hearing loss.

Throughout her career with us, Pauline has undertaken a variety of training for her own professional development. Her proudest achievements are her Level 1 & 2 qualifications in British Sign Language (BSL) which allows her to communicate more effectively with her Deaf team members and service users. She has also achieved a Level 5 award in Management and Leadership which has given her the confidence to lead and support the team she has now.

Pauline, herself has hearing loss and had faced a few struggles in previous employment but now finds that it is a positive in the job that she does now.

We asked Pauline why she enjoyed working for BID Services. Watch the video below to see what she said!

Video transcript. “I started working for BID because I felt it was important as a hearing aid user myself to be in a role where I can actually help people. So I was in employment before where it was a bit of a struggle for me and I feel that my own hearing loss is a positive thing in the job that I do. that’s why I enjoy working at BID.”

During her downtime, she loves to crochet, spend time gardening and travel abroad!

Thank you for all that you do, Pauline!
