Preparing for Adulthood (Birmingham)
22 June @ 10:30 am – 4:00 pm

Do you live in Birmingham? Have a child who is deaf, hard of hearing, has a vision impairment or is deafblind and want to explore their next steps as they prepare for adulthood?
We are running an event at our Deaf Cultural Centre for young people aged 14+ to meet with our support services and other local services to help plan their next steps once they leave school. This event will be running between 10:30am – 4pm – drop-in whenever suits you, you do not need to stay all day!
What’s happening?
This could be a great opportunity to learn about and explore the services available to your child, including (but not limited to):
- Employment Services – for support with interview practise, CV writing and understanding their rights to Access to Work (ATW).
- Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) Services – learn about how to manage money, bills, living independently, letter translation etc.
- Community Services – learn about all of the social groups we run for a chance to make new friends, try accessible and fun activities!
Families and carers are welcome to join!
A simple lunch of sandwiches and crisps will be provided. Refreshments available throughout the day.
If you are interested, please register by completing the online form.
