Parent Group
11 February @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Are you a deaf parent? Do you have a child who is deaf? Live in Birmingham?
This could be the perfect group for you! We are running regular sessions which are free to attend. During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to meet other parents, share tips and your experiences about parenting in a safe, friendly environment. All sessions will have British Sign Langauge (BSL) interpreters, meaning all information shared will be accessible for everyone.
What will you gain from this group?
A better understanding of childhood development, behaviour, and wellbeing to help build connected relationships and resilience for the everyday challenges of parenting. Together, we can support you to:
- Look at your long-term goals of parenting
- Understand how young children think, feel and act
- Learn skills that can increase your enjoyment and effectiveness as a parent
- Understand the different ages and stages of development
- Learn how to effectively discipline young children and better understand interactions
- Build stronger bonds with your children
No childcare?
No problem! You are welcome to bring children with you. We have a small play area for children and they will be looked after by two of our trusted Play Workers, which means you can attend the session or workshop knowing your children are in good hands.
