Leeds Digital Support Services

BSL video

Our Digital Support Services offer those with sensory impairments access to a range of mainstream and specialist digital resources and technology, with the launch of our new mobile Karten Centre in Leeds. Karten Centres form part of the Karten Network, a network of IT centres specifically designed for those with physical, cognitive, sensory or learning disabilities or impairments.

We offer face to face workshops for those who are D/deaf, hard of hearing or sight impaired so they can get hands on experience of the hardware, programs and apps which can benefit them in their daily lives, at home, in the community or in a workplace environment, building confidence, independence and work-related skills. These will be delivered by our specialist equipment and technology staff and our transitions and employment team, providing tailored advice and support.

Leeds Digital Support Services are funded by The Ian Karten Charitable Trust and the Leeds Community Foundation.

Want to volunteer with us?

Our volunteers are invaluable and make a huge difference to our work. Whatever your skills, experience and interests, we probably have a volunteering opportunity that will suit you.

A boy with a hearing aid is sitting at the table playing a game, carefully removing bricks from a stack. A member of staff/volunteer is smiling as she watches.
