Support Worker (Visual/Hearing Impairment)

Location: Leeds
Salary: £16,766 per annum
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

We are recruiting for a British Sign Language (BSL) Level 3 Support Worker to join our friendly team at Leeds Hearing and Sight Loss Service to provide high quality support for our service users who are deaf, hearing impaired, sight impaired or severely sight impaired, deafblind or have acquired dual sensory loss to facilitate opportunities to live meaningful and fulfilled lives.

As a support worker, you will be providing a range of housing related interventions by co-working with assessors, so that service users can maintain their tenancy and achieve independence to their best ability. You will be responsible for booking your own appointments, managing workload and dealing with general day to day correspondence ensuring service users case notes, risk assessments, support plans are read and updated on our database.

To be successful for the post, you will have to be qualified to BSL Level 3 (or working towards) and ideally, hold a related qualification such as Hearing Impairment or Visual Impairment training. Flexibility is essential as the post requires evening and weekend work.
