Senior Enablement Officer

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £22,572 pro-rata per annum
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Fixed-term until August 2022

We are recruiting for a Senior Enablement Officer with excellent BSL Level 2 skills to join our Enablement Service in Birmingham to provide Information, Advice and Guidance/Floating Support to service users who have sensory loss to help them to the quality of their life, make positive contributions, attain freedom from harassment and discrimination, increasing choice and control over their own lives.

As part of the role you will provide an Information, Advice and Guidance/Floating support to service users following individual support plans linked to outcomes, carrying out contact assessments/risk assessments working with the individuals, their families/carers to provide a high quality person-centred support. In addition to this, you will be responsible for the day-to day supervision of the staff team ensuring continuous improvement and development of the service.

To be successful for this post, you will have experience in holding a varied and complex caseload, working with service users carrying out contact assessments/risk assessments keeping accurate detailed case recordings and statistics, and have a good working knowledge of safeguarding as well as effective communications skills, excellent British Sign Language to a Level 2 standard. Team management skills is an advantage but not essential. Effective administrative and I.T. skills are a must and a vehicle available for work as well as a flexible positive attitude.
