Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Worker

Location: Leeds
Salary: £20,540 per annum pro rata
Hours: 20 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 10am - 2pm

We are recruiting for an IAG Worker to provide a high quality, community based service to people who have a sensory loss e.g., adults and young people aged 16+ who are deaf, hearing impaired, sight impaired, severely sight impaired, deafblind or have acquired dual sensory loss.

Reporting to the Senior Team Leader, you will be providing a person centred service, information and advice on a range of topics. You will be required to provide support in emergency/crisis situations having a flexible presence at drop in facilities within the Leeds area. You will also be required to undertake assessments, risk assessments, dealing efficiently with referrals whether it is self referral or enquiries on behalf of family or friends. As part of the role, you will be responsible to promote independent living by advising, information and referring on to other services.

To be successful for the role, you will have experience of working with people who have a sensory loss, have previous experience in providing information, advice and guidance, undertaking assessments and managing case loads. Excellent communication, IT and administration skills are required for this post. You will also be qualified to BSL Level 3 (or working towards) and related qualifications (such as Visual impairment training) is required.

Flexibility needed as the successful candidate will be required to work weekends and evenings.
