Engagement Worker

Location: Leeds/Kirklees
Salary: £21,204 to £21,867 pro rata per annum dependent on experience
Hours: 30 hours per week
Contract Length: until May 2023

We are looking for an Engagement Worker to join our two West Yorkshire Services to provide high quality service to our service users with a sensory impairment and/or other disabilities.

The role is Leeds based but the successful candidate will need to cover both Leeds and Kirklees area. Main accountabilities for the role are:

  • Befriending
  • Sensory Impaired awareness training and promotion
  • Self-help/management training/information sharing
  • Peer support groups
  • Work with Social Prescribing services

To be successful for the role you will have experience in:

  • Working with sensory impaired people
  • Setting up new projects
  • Facilitate peer support groups
  • Working with sensory impaired people to self-manage their own health conditions

In addition to the above, you will have excellent communication skills including BSL level 3 qualification (or native BSL user), organisational skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team and able to deal with conflicting demands on time and respond to deadlines.
