Community Engagement Manager 

Location: Birmingham
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: £24,067-£26,646 per annum (dependent on experience)

Fixed-term contract until October 2022 with the possibility of 1 year extension.

We are recruiting for a Community Engagement Manager to provide high-quality support to our service users who are Deaf,Hearing Impaired ,Deafblind or have dual Sensory Loss in our Information Advice and Guidance Service in Birmingham.

Reporting to the Service Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and promotion of services ,staff supervision and development as well as managing your own caseload, allocating referrals ,monitoring KPI's and producing reports. As part of the role you will also be providing sensory impaired training sessions for internal and external professionals ,liaising with partner organisations and internal services.

To be successful for the role you will have some previous management experience,comprehensive experience and knowledge of the wide range of services provided to people with a sensory impairment.You will be qualified to BSL Level 2 (or equivalent ),holding a relevant qualification e.g.Hearing Impairment Awareness Training, NVQ Level 2/3 Health and Social Care etc..You will have excellent communications skills , experience in working with hearing and visually impaired service users to promote independence and achieve service outcomes. Some flexibility is required for the post as working hours include evenings and weekends.
