Equipment Support

BID Services provides specialist assistive equipment as well as advice and guidance on maintaining independence, within the home or in the community.  Assessments are generally carried out by appointment and equipment is issued once a needs-led assessment has taken place.

The assessment will identify any specific needs which can be met by assistive equipment to improve a person’s quality of life.

How can our equipment service help you?

When you come to see us you can be confident that we always work hard to ensure  you get the support you need.  For instance, for those with a hearing loss, we can provide hearing loops, flashing light doorbells and vibrating alarms, to overcome some of the everyday problems. For those with a visual impairment, we can provide such things as liquid level indicators, anti glare glasses, symbol canes and long canes.  Where feasible, we can offer demonstrations of some of the equipment we have on our sites and can also give advice on other equipment and signpost you to providers, such as hearing aid support.

“Thank you. I am most grateful for the beautiful and speedy receipt of the flashing light for the phone. I am very much looking forward to a phone call so I can see it flash when someone is on the line – I don’t get many phone calls though. Thank you so much.”

“I was not aware of the help I could get until you contacted me. I was desperate to be able to hear the TV (especially drama) and you have made that possible. Thank you.”
