Children & Young People

The Children and Young People Service is an integral part of BID Services’ provision for those with a visual impairment. The core purpose is supporting the education, personal and social development of children and young people to enable them to reach their full potential and make a successful transition into adult life.  We aim to provide consistent and appropriate support to young people whilst effectively addressing their needs such as helping them make informed choices about their lives.

We currently provide children and young people’s services in Lincolnshire as outlined below.

Chance to Meet Activities

We provide regular activities for children and young people with all sensory impairments. The types of activities we organise range from Easter and Christmas parties, picnics, visits to local farm parks, activity play centres, bowling and sessions with local and national disability sports organisations.  Wherever possible our activities are inclusive for children and young people with all sensory impairments.

Information & Advice

We can give advice and signpost into other services. Because of working closely with other families, we can also connect family members together, so first hand experiences with another parent, carer, sibling, aunt, uncle or grandparent can be shared.
