We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Employment Coach for Deaf people to provide personalized pre and post career guidance and job support to clients in Leeds area who are Deaf. In this role, you will conduct outreach to identify potential participants, build rapport through one-on-one coaching, assess vocational interests and abilities, and create tailored action plans to set clients on a path to employment success.
As part of the role you will:
- Assisting with CV and cover letter drafting
- Interview preparation
- Facilitate and run job club
- Undertake and co-produce an assessment, support plan and risk assessment with the person accessing the employment service.
- Support a person to make an Access to Work claim for interviews, in work communication support, and technology support were relevant.
- Maintaining detailed client records, track progress, and report metrics.
To be successful for this post, you will have the following experience:
• Experience of working with people who are Deaf, in a 1-1 or group capacity.
• An understanding of the barriers faced by people who are Deaf, such as social barriers and barriers to technology especially in the labour market and how these can be overcome.
• British Sign Language Level 3 or native BSL user
• Have or able to develop relationship with stakeholders/organisations.
• Experience to facilitate and run service users’ groups
• Sound knowledge of Safeguarding, GDPR and Risk Assessments
• Good level of English as recording case notes is essential in this role.
