Join us in celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Birmingham this June with our special weekend event!

Birmingham

The BIG BID Queen’s Jubilee Celebration will be on Saturday 11th June, from 11am to 3pm at the Deaf Cultural Centre, Birmingham. This will be a fun, family event featuring dance, circus skills, performing arts, crafts and much more. Entry to this exciting event is free and our on-site café will be open to provide refreshments.

In partnership with Deaf Explorer, an independent organisation creating opportunities for deaf artists and performers, we will be delivering a number of interactive sessions for all ages including theatre and dance workshops, as well as the chance to try out circus skills and other crafts.

We are proud to be supported to run this event through the Let’s Create Jubilee Fund from Arts Council and Heart of England.

The pandemic over the last 2 years has had an impact on the deaf community not only in Birmingham but all of the UK, with lack of access to information about covid, not being able to fully understand what was going on and lockdowns resulting in young and older deaf people feeling isolated and lonely. This has meant an increase in numbers of deaf people having issues with their mental health. The BIG BID Queen’s Jubilee Celebration will be our first big community event for the deaf community since before covid.  So bring your friends and family and let’s get together, celebrate and create something fantastic!

When? Saturday 11th June, from 11am – 3pm

Where? Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham.

Who? Everyone!
