Resignation of Dr Jonathan Shapiro – Chair of BID Services

Following nearly two years as the Chair of the Board of Trustees here at BID Services, we would like to share the news of the resignation of Dr Jonathan Shapiro.

Jonathan joined us back 2019 and has since provided invaluable input and support to BID Services in the position of Chair. We would like to thank Jonathan for his commitment, support and help navigating through the challenging last 18 months during the pandemic. His input and guidance have helped us to work towards achieving our strategic priorities and to build a stronger Board who can support and move forward the charity’s work for people with sensory impairments and other disabilities.

Dr Jonathan Shapiro announced his resignation with the following statement:

“It is with some regret that I announce my resignation from the Board of BID Services. After nearly two years as its Chair, recent changes in both my domestic and work circumstances mean that I will have to rethink some of my charitable roles, and these will need to come about with immediate effect."

"I have enjoyed my time at BID, and feel that I have helped start a journey that will need to continue with vigour and determination. I wish you all good luck in that journey, and will watch the progress of the Charity with interest.”

We will be sharing further information about our next steps to recruit a new Chair to the Board of Trustees in due course. In the meantime, we wish Jonathan all the best going forwards.
