Befriending Service

BID Services' Befriending Service is available for Deaf, hard of hearing and Deafblind people in Birmingham and around the West Midlands. The service is designed to provide support to people who are feeling confused, worried and isolated by the current lockdown restrictions.

These include people who need:

  • Emotional support (someone to talk to)
  • Help to understand information about the Coronavirus including what they can or can’t do
  • Extra support with shielding and isolating 
  •  Extra support with shopping or a food parcel delivery

Would you like to be a Volunteer Befriender?

We are also looking for volunteer Befrienders for this exciting project. If you are interested, please let us know! Here are many Deaf, Hard of hearing and Deaf Blind people isolating at home in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
