PURE Employment Service featured on BBC Newsnight

One of our PURE Employment Service clients, Komol Miah, was interviewed for BBC Newsnight this month speaking about his experience of getting back into work following sight loss and the support he received from our Employment Team to help him on this journey.

Newsnight were raising awareness of the importance of EU funding to many projects across the UK and the need for continuation funding to be confirmed by the government with Brexit looming and projects due to come to an end.

Our PURE Employment Service is funded through EU funding and is delivered via Birmingham City Council. Through our PURE Employment Service we support people with sensory impairments and physical disabilities into employment, education or training. This project has been a vital source of support for many people across Birmingham, even more so in recent months and we have continued to support people into employment despite the pandemic.

To watch the Newsnight article, head to BBC iPlayer. The interview featured on the episode aired on the 17/11/20 and can be found 26 minutes and 40 seconds in.
