ACCESS, a new information, advice and guidance service

A new Information, Advice & Guidance Service for adults living in Birmingham with new or emerging life-changing conditions is being delivered by BID Services in partnership with DeafPLUS.

The service can provide a comprehensive range of information and advice, training courses and emotional support to help people with a hearing loss navigate their way through new or life changing conditions and circumstances.

The service can support anyone over the age of 18, their family, friends and carers and provides a range of support such as:

  • Access to online workshops, training and wellbeing sessions
  • Providing self-help fact sheets and leaflets
  • Introductions and referrals to specialist networks
  • Support with benefits/welfare applications
  • How to contact Adult Social Care
  • Applying for or renewing a blue badge
  • Applying for an older person’s bus pass
  • Arranging a social care assessment
  • Support to help you live independently
  • Help paying for care
  • Contacting Adult Social Care in an emergency
  • Supporting grant applications to help with the cost of adapting your home
  • How to access Occupational Therapy
  • Mental health services
  • Help to use or move around your home
