A local service in Coventry supporting people with a hearing or sight loss

For people living with a hearing or sight loss, having access to a range of information and advice can be vital to in making a positive difference to their lives, enabling them to stay healthy and to live as independently as possible in their homes.

As part of the ‘Coventry Enablement Service’, people living in Coventry over the age of 16 who have a hearing or sight loss, can obtain free information on a range of issues. The service is provided both in the community and in people’s homes and enables residents to access good quality information and advice, such as getting help with tenancy support, managing budgets, information around benefits and debt, staying safe and secure in the home, and even advice about employment, education, training and volunteering. As well, there are opportunities for people to take part in health and wellbeing activities and social groups, which can help reduce isolation and loneliness. The friendly team delivering the service can offer communications in a range of ways, including British Sign Language for people with a hearing loss.
