Generous donation from BBC Children in Need will make a big difference to the lives of young people with sensory impairments in Lincolnshire

BID has been awarded a three year grant of £30,000 from BBC Children in Need, which will be used to provide young people with sensory impairments, and their families, living in Lincolnshire, with regular opportunities to meet socially and have fun. Through the programme, the project aims to build stronger family bonds, by supporting children to develop new friendships and build life skills for the future.

The service will be provided through BID's 'Chance to Meet' service in Lincolnshire which creates opportunities for families and children to meet with their peers and for parents and siblings to meet and share experiences.

Jorja Le Gallienne, Manager of the service commented:

"Due to the specific nature of their communication and mobility needs, many young people with a sensory loss are unable to access mainstream groups. We are so grateful to receive this funding from Children in Need, which will enable us to continue to deliver this vital service to help young people and their families to build new friendships and gain new skills."
