BID Services receives £29,000 from Peter Harrison Foundation to fund one year multi sports youth club for young deaf people

The project will support deaf coaches to set up sports clubs in the local community and to increase participation by delivering family friendly, fun and accessible events throughout the year such as football, rugby, basketball, cricket, ladies football and multi-sport activities. We will also deliver Deaf Awareness Training to mainstream sports centre staff.

Life Skills Group goes behind the scenes at ASDA

Last Friday our Life Skills Group visited ASDA at Small Heath, to go behind the scenes and learn about different aspects of what happens there.  They were given a guided tour of the walk-in fridges and freezers, observed delicious pizzas being assembled and packaged and learned about the differences between sell by dates and use by dates. The group also had an opportunity to scan items at the checkout.
