BID Services offer a specialist equipment support service for deaf, hard of hearing and sensory impaired residents living in Cumbria. We also provide support to families, carers, professionals and other organisations, working together to improve the lives of Cumbrian residents.

The service supports people aged 18 and over as well as young people aged 16 and over transitioning from children’s services.

We can offer support using a range of communication methods to suit your needs.

Services are carried out in the home, by appointment, during the following times:

Monday-Thursday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Friday 9:00am – 4:30pm

Our Services

Assessments

Our experienced Technical Officers can undertake assessments and where eligible, help people access equipment for use in the home. Assessments are carried out in the home by prior appointment only. Information available on request.

Specialist Equipment Support

Following an assessment and subject to Care Act eligibility, we can provide equipment such as pager systems, personal and domestic hearing loops, minicom equipment, home alerting systems and flashing doorbells.
