Services — Supporting People
Supporting People in and around Birmingham
What is Supporting People?
Supporting People aims to help vulnerable people who are Hearing Impaired and/or Visually Impaired and/or have a Physical Disability, to improve their quality of life by enabling them to live more independently.
We provide a team with a wide range of communication skills to enable us to support people across all communities.
Housing related support focuses on enabling people to live as independently as possible in their accommodation.
We support and aim to encourage independence in order:
- To meet responsibilities of having a tenancy or owning their home.
- Know how to get all the necessary services into their accommodation (utilities)
- Deal with and how to access services to improve and repair their property
- Keep their accommodation warm, safe, and comfortable
- Well being: to access appropriate services when necessary
- Accessing the community and local services
- Not to feel trapped or isolated in the accommodation to the point where they no longer wish to live there
BID Services Supporting People work very closely with local communities and professional organisations to deliver a high quality service to their service users.
