Level 1 Award in BSL
The qualification is designed to enable learners to communicate with Deaf people in BSL on a range of topics that involve basic everyday language use. Candidates must achieve all three units below for the full qualification.
BSL101 Introduction to BSL -
Introductory skills providing a limited range of simple words and sentences in BSL.
BSL102 Conversational BSL -
Skills for everyday conversations or instructions in relation to activities at home e.g. using numbers, describing interests and commenting on the weather.
BSL103 BSL at work/School/College -
Skills for everyday conversations or instructions in relation to activities at work/school/college, e.g. describing the building, activities carried out, transport used, directions.
BSL Level 1 courses start in September 2010 at the Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham B16 8SZ
- Starts Friday 10th September and ends on 18th March 2011
- Lessons take place every Friday morning from 9:30am - 12:30pm
- Course fee: £270 + £60* (assessment fee)
- Full course and assessment payment required at enrolment.
