Duty service

Care Management operate a Duty service on Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm and Friday from 9am to 4.30pm. We also have an Asian Duty service on Wednesdays at 9am to 12.30pm.

The service can be accessed by anybody who has a profound hearing loss regardless of age and, no appointment is necessary, although occasionally there may be a short wait. This service is designed to assist and empower service users in regard to their daily life issues.

Examples of problems dealt with can range from booking GP/hospital appointments to more complex issues where there may be a need for a Social Worker to be allocated.

All service users who access the Duty system are treated confidentially.  Data Protection and personal privacy are also essential to the Duty system.

We provide confidential advice, guidance and information on personal/general matters and if we are unable to help we usually refer you to other internal departments or outside agencies such as Employment Services, Citizern Advice Bureau and the Neighbourhood Office.

We can also give you advice on how to access our interpreting service for appointments, interviews or any emergency you may have.

If you want to know about bid services and what services are available then please come and see us at the Deaf Cultural Centre, we will be happy to talk to you.
