Services  Activ8

BID Services is delivering a two year social work pilot on behalf of Birmingham City Council.

The new service, called Activ8, provides two service streams; a formal professional social work practice and an informal provision, called Cre8. The Social Work stream will ensure that people with Physical Disabilities meeting criteria, will have needs led assessments and care and support plans developed. There will be a focus on self-directed support enabling choice and control, leading to greater independence and self-determination. The aim of Cre8 is to enable and empower people with physical disabilities to utilise current resources more effectively. Up to 8 support services can be activated, such as employment support, health information, community and leisure support, assistive technology, brokerage, maximising income, signposting and social work support.

The Activ8 and Cre8 services will be managed from the Assist Birmingham Centre, in Springhill, Birmingham.
