Campaigning for Deaf Issues

At BID we actively campaign for the rights of Deaf people across the West Midlands.

We also campaign to raise awareness of Deafness and hearing issues amongst the wider communities across the Midlands. Our Communications Tips campaign approached shops across Birmingham about Deaf Awareness.

Our current campaigns are:

Sign Up! – Sign up is our campaign to get as many people as possible to learn, or continue learning BSL. We want to introduce 250 new students to BSL to actively increase the number of sign language users in the West Midlands.

Communication Tips - Everyday Deaf people experience communication barriers that can make accessing services and shops a problem. He campaign offers five tips on making communication easier.
