News — Deaf Adventure Day for young deaf people
BID Services, with funding from Street Games will be delivering a Deaf Adventure Day for 8 - 18 year olds. This event will be taking place during half term in June at Ackers, in Birmingham.
The one day adventure special has been arranged as an extension of the Deaf Sports Project, designed to promote sports and allow deaf children and young people to try different and new sports.
This event is taking place on Wednesday 1st June and has been specially tailored to cater for deaf participants and will give them the opportunity to try a number of different sports including archery, canoeing, rock climbing and skiing. Although the activity is taking place at another venue, a minibus has been provided and all young people will be picked up from the Deaf Cultural Centre and returned at the end of the day.
Total cost for this event is £20 per child. Places must be booked and paid in advance and are given on a first come, first served basis.
