News — City Centre ‘Sign Up’
‘Sign Up’ is a campaign to raise awareness in British Sign Language classes, and is aimed at all those who wish to take up the opportunity of being able to learn how to communicate in sign language. The initial classes will give the person an idea of what sign language is all about and whether they would like to take their learning any further. British Sign Language is the language used by the deaf community; it is a visual language whereby the hands do all the talking.
To ‘Sign Up’ to a British Sign Language class will give people the opportunity to learn a new language and the confidence to communicate with deaf colleagues, deaf customers, deaf family members or make new friends.

The weather was kind and many people enjoyed the day going home with a better understanding of British Sign Language. Some who had learnt basic sign language stated that they were very interested to learn more. Enrolment onto a British Sign Language class starts in September and if you are interested check out bid services website and look for ‘Sign Up’ in the campaign section.
