bid services ‘Up and Running’!
On Sunday 31st May, 16 intrepid runners and walkers participated in the Great Midlands Fun Run to raise money for bid services. The run is 8.5 miles long, starting in Sutton Coldfield High Street and works its way through Sutton Park before returning to the High Street. It was an extremely hot day and everyone did extremely well to finish.
The team consisted of bid services staff in conjunction with trustees and family members who were willing to take part.
Local running shop “Up and Running” donated t-shirts for all the runners to wear. Adam, the store manager, commented: “We were more than happy to be involved with supporting the runners and walkers”.
Participants were sponsored by family and friends for their efforts.
Terry Yarnall, Fundraising manager said “I am proud of the runners. Not only have they made the effort to run 8.5 miles on a very hot day but they also made an effort to raise money for a service for young deaf people. I would like to add that we are extremely grateful to Up and Running for giving us their full support on the day and providing t-shirts for the runners.”
