Local charity BID are giving people across Birmingham the chance to take part in two free British Sign Language (BSL) sessions.
On the 13th and 19th August people from across the Birmingham area are being offered the chance to sign up for language as part of the Sign Up campaign drive.
BSL is one of the UK’s most rich and diverse indigenous languages that offers people a great learning experience, the chance to learn more about how sign language developed, the origins of many of the signs used to today and the chance to develop new communication skills.
Sue Curley, BID course co-ordinator said: “These taster sessions are a great way for people to try out BSL for themselves. In the past we have had people that have taken in part in the one hour sessions and enjoyed them so much they have gone on to take the full level one and two courses.”
