New BSL Show from the Deaf Cultural Centre in collaboration with The REP

The Meeting (Work in Progress)
Thursday 18th May
2:30pm
Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham, B16 8SZ

In a unique partnership between the Deaf Cultural Centre and Birmingham Repertory Theatre, The Meeting (Work in Progress) is a moving, powerful and comic exploration of what it means to be excluded as an individual and of what we share in common as one community.

Performed almost entirely in British Sign Language by deaf participants, The Meeting has been devised with the company from their experiences and stories to create a unique piece of theatre about how we don’t need to hear in order to understand.

This is a work in progress sharing from the critically acclaimed writer and director Alexander Zeldin – whose previous work includes LOVE and Beyond Caring – and Associate Director Nyasha Gudo, an emerging director from The Foundry, the REP’s artist development scheme.
