Current Projects — European Projects
bid services is currently involved in three European projects, Goal.Net, Game On and Game On Extra Time, that will help people with learning difficulties and sensory disabilities develop new skills through e-learning.
In each project a series of downloadable e-games are produced to develop key skills around numeracy, literacy and employability. These games allow the players to build their skills in fun and challenging contexts while they develop.
Here’s a little bit more information on some of the projects.
Game On
This project is all about supporting students with learning disabilities and sensory impairment through developing access to learning methods and concepts that have been difficult to communicate in the past.
Game On has three key aims:
Develop employability through games based learning: Game On builds the literacy and numeracy skills that are essential to find work.
Reawaken an interest in learning: The interactive learning style of the games has been specifically created to engage learners and show how learning can be fun, keeping students interested.
Create equal participation in learning: Game On gives people the chance to learn through accessible and interesting games created opportunities to take part in learning programmes.
Game On Extra Time
‘Game On Extra Time’ is a continuation of the Game On project led by Nottingham Trent University in which a series of web based computer games to develop literacy and numeracy skills are being developed.
Our role in Game On Extra Time is to help develop the curriculum by focussing on the creation of meaningful and suitable training to match the needs of students and the realities in the work place.
Goal Net
Goal Net is an exciting new project that has been specially developed to break down educational barriers across Europe. Like Game On the Goal Net project has developed a new set of e-learning games to:
Engage people with learning difficulties through games based learning
